Spring is in the air, and your thoughts are turning towards the garden. It’s time to reseed the lawn, set out new flowers and get the veggie garden going. Fortunately, our friends at Stone Bros. and Byrd have offered to host Preservation Durham members and friends for an evening of seeking seeds, tools, and advice to create beautiful lawns and gardens.

Come have a drink, listen to music, and mingle with fellow preservation supporters while you shop for all your garden supplies. Buy a raffle ticket (or ten!) for a chance to win a gift certificate to one of many great local restaurants. Light snacks will be provided, and beer and wine will be available for purchase. Afterwards, folks can stroll down the block afterwards for a bite to eat at one of the many food trucks or restaurants that can be found in the Central Park neighborhood.

One of Durham’s oldest businesses, Stone Bros. & Byrd opened its doors in 1914 with the mission to serve the needs of the Durham area’s small farmers and the company still maintains the most important customs from its history: providing stellar service and top-quality products to help those with or without green thumbs have healthy and beautiful gardens.
