2022 Spring Home Tour | Then & Now

This year’s Preservation Durham Annual Home Tour celebrates the best private preservation projects undertaken by owners and families – examples of how saving and adapting an historic house enriches not only the lives of the people who live in them, but their neighborhoods, and all of Durham as well.

With every house there is a very human, a very Durham, story. These are stories of philanthropists, of business successes and business disappointments, of tradesmen and factory workers, of young couples starting out, and lives longed lived.

The present owners of these homes are the stewards of these stories and the artifacts of this history. These owners chose preservation. They have invited us into their homes. We hope you will be inspired by what you see.
