Two National Register Districts Are Expanded

Two of Durham's National Register Historic Districts were officially expanded in June, 2004. Morehead Hill, first named a Historic District in 1985, was expanded to the south as far as Wells Street. Trinity Historic District was expanded to the north as far as Club Boulevard between Buchanan Street and Woodland Drive. Trinity NRHD was originally recognized in 1986. There are 57 districts and individual properties in Durham County that are included in the National Register of Historic Places, a program of the National Park Service which works to identify and preserve America's historic places.
